Privacy Policy

Last updated June 9, 2026

Thank you for using StreamingMeme (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.

StreamingMeme is a news aggregation service covering the streaming media industry. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website or subscribe to our newsletter. It applies to all visitors, subscribers, and advertisers who interact with us.

By using StreamingMeme, you accept the practices described here. If any part of this policy gives you pause, you’re welcome to stop using the site and reach out to us at info@streamingmeme.com with any questions.

1. Information We Collect

What you give us directly

The only personal information we collect is what you choose to share with us, primarily your name and email address when you sign up for the StreamingMeme newsletter, reach out via email, or engage with us in another capacity (such as advertising). We don’t ask for more than we need.

Please make sure any information you provide is accurate and let us know if it changes.

What your browser and device tell us automatically

Like virtually every website, ours collects certain technical data automatically whenever someone visits. This includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and device type. We also log pages viewed, timestamps, and your navigation on the site.

None of this automatically collected data directly identifies you by name. It helps us keep the site running smoothly, understand how it’s being used, and detect security issues.

We collect this data through server logs, cookies, and similar tracking technologies. Here’s what we use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Required for basic site functions, like remembering your preference to open links in a new tab. These can’t be disabled without breaking parts of the site.
  • Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, which pages are popular, how long people stay, and where they come from. This data is aggregated and anonymized. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Advertising cookies. Third-party ad partners may place cookies to serve interest-based ads and measure ad performance. These can track your browser across other sites. To opt out, visit aboutads.info/choices or networkadvertising.org.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking certain cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Delivering the StreamingMeme newsletter and any updates you’ve opted into
  • Responding to your messages, questions, or support requests
  • Maintaining site security and preventing abuse or fraud
  • Analyzing site traffic and usage patterns to improve the experience
  • Fulfilling our obligations to advertisers and other business partners
  • Complying with legal requirements or responding to valid legal process

We rely on a combination of your consent (for the newsletter), legitimate business interests (for analytics and security), and legal obligations to process your data.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell personal information. We have not sold any personal data to third parties in the past 12 months and do not intend to do so.

We may share your data only in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. Vendors who help us operate the site or send the newsletter (e.g., email delivery platforms) may process your data on our behalf under written agreements that restrict their use of it.
  • Legal compliance. If required by law, court order, or government request, we may disclose information to comply with our legal obligations.
  • Safety.Where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud, protect someone’s safety, or address a serious violation of our policies.
  • Business changes. If StreamingMeme is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred, your information may be part of that transaction. We’ll notify you if this happens and your data changes hands in a material way.

4. Third-Party Links and Advertisers

StreamingMeme’s core function is linking to articles published elsewhere. Those third-party websites have their own privacy policies, and we have no control over how they handle your data. Our policy covers only what happens on streamingmeme.com.

We may also display advertising from third-party networks. Those advertisers may set their own cookies and collect data about your browsing behavior across sites. We’re not responsible for their practices. Please review their privacy policies directly.

5. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as it’s needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Newsletter subscriber data is retained while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Server logs are typically retained for a limited time and then deleted or anonymized. If you ask us to delete your data, we’ll do so promptly, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

6. Security

We use standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information we hold. That said, no system is impenetrable. We can’t guarantee that your data will never be accessed, disclosed, or altered without authorization. Use our Services in a secure environment and contact us immediately at info@streamingmeme.com if you believe your information has been compromised.

7. Children

StreamingMeme is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us, and we’ll remove it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, request its deletion, or object to its processing.

Newsletter opt-out. You can unsubscribe from the StreamingMeme newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us at the address below. Where we rely on your consent to process your data, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing we carried out before you withdrew it.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland residents: You have rights under the GDPR or equivalent local law, including the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. EU authority contact details are available here; Swiss authority details are here.

StreamingMeme is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your home country.

Cookie preferences: Your browser’s settings let you reject or delete cookies at any time. Opting out of certain cookies may affect some site features. To opt out of interest-based advertising, visit aboutads.info/choices.

Do Not Track:Our site does not currently respond to browser-level Do Not Track signals, as no universal standard for these signals exists. We’ll revisit this if that changes.

To exercise any of your rights, email info@streamingmeme.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we’ll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. California Residents (CCPA)
